MY QUIET PLACE

  • “My Quiet Place” is one of our programs under “DIGS” that focuses on encouraging and engaging early reading in children living in underserved communities We do this by building and equipping a library filled with different genre of books for kids and young adult.
  • Research has shown that reading helps improve a child’s brain development. Reading to a child and later teaching them to read helps influence a lifetime healthy brain function.
  • A child that loves to read will love to learn and will be an excellent communicator. Reading increases self confidence in a child and build the creative and imaginative streak of a child.
  • Most importantly, once a child learns how to read and loves it, a whole new world is open to him/her. The entire universe is made accessible to a child just a few pages away.

DIGS

As the name implies our Digs program involve building and constructions of anything ranging from building, erecting and repairing structures or amenities in underserved communities.

An example of such endeavors  is our current project – MY QUIET PLACE. We are building small free for all children and young adult libraries in underserve communities. This is to give children of all ages the equal opportunity to early reading and to fall in love with reading.

Founder's Quote

Slide 1

"Kids going to school bare-feet because their parents could not afford to buy them shoes. Widows struggling every day to feed their children. Minors hawking on both residential and main streets. Families living on less than a dollar every day.
All these combined, ignited the fire and brought about the birth of Asake Inc. Foundation to make a difference and give hope to the vulnerable."

Slide 2

"Children are our future, and the only way for the world to evolve, as I have been shown it should be, is for each generation to be more loving and compassionate than the one before. This is only possible if we support the children around us, and protect and encourage them so they don’t need to lock their love away."

Lorna Byrne

"Children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded."

"The final stage of wisdom is becoming a kid again."

"The essence of our effort to see that every child has a chance must be to assure each an equal opportunity, not to become equal, but to become different – to realize whatever unique potential of body, mind and spirit he or she possesses."

John Fisher

"If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children."
